"ONLY THE MISSUS"

FINE FOR INDECENT LANGUAGE.

"I was only addressing my missus, I told her to get the tickets herself," said George Wilson Pocklington, a shoemaker, aged 51, in the Magistrate's Court this morning, in extenuation of a charge of having used indecent language outside a picture theatre. Sub-Inspector Harvey told the Court that several women were within hearing distance.

Messrs. A. Waterworth and J. A. M'Grath, J.P.s, held the opinion that a man must not swear even to hi» wife in public, and fined Pocklington £1, in default three days' imprisonment* •
