NEW STATION OPENS NEXT WEEK.

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day
Christehurch's now radio station, 3 YA, under tho auspices of tho New Zealand Broadcasting Company, will "take the air" for tho first time on night. The station will' work with an output of 500 watts. On Tuesday night tho 3 AC plant of the Christchurch 'Radio Society will close down.
AUCKLAND OPERATOR'S SUCCESS.
The last few days appear to have been very favourable for long-distance wireless work.
An Auckland operator, Mr. Laurence Diekson, son of Mr. J. S. Dickson, M.P., has been in touch with 50 amateurs in oversea countries, including four in England, one in Germany, two in Russia, one in Italy, and several in the Argentine, Brazil, India, Japan, and France, besides a dozen in America and Australia.
The Auckland broadcasting station, IYA, is reported to have been giving exceptionally good results since its opening.
