HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

The House of Representatives met at 2.30 p.m. to-day.

Mr. W. E. Parry (Auckland Central) asked the Prime Minister whether he thought tho Auckland Unemployment Committee was justified in disbanding, seeing that there were about 1000 people there out of work.

Mr. Coktes replied that ho had been informed that tho committee had done all that it could with local bodies and the Government to provide work, and that it believed that until the necessity again aroso there was no need to have regular meetings. Ho would have further inquiries made into. the position.
