(Received 26th August, 2 p.m.)

NEW YOBK, 25th August.

The "Herald-Tribune" says that tha enemies of Krishnamurti, tho so-called "New Messiah," protested against his entry into the country on Wednesday! alleging "moral turpitude," with Bpecific charges, the names of those responsible not being revealed. The newspaper quotes Immigration Commissioner Day as saying that ho expected further evidence. "If it is more tli'an presumptive proof of guilt, we shall hold him for inquiry," he said.

The youthful Theosophist, accompanied by Mrs. Besant, arrived on the Majestic, and was delayed from landing for several hours by an unusually heavy, fog, which slowed navigation in the harbour.

Shown the "Herald-Tribune" atory, Krishnamurti said: "It is all untrue. I deny every bit of it. All this wag cleared up in the Madraa Court more than a year ago. This is the work of mischievous, mad people.''

Asked his views on jazz, lip-sticks, and the Charleston, he said: "Happiness is being sought in the material, but can be found only in the spiritual. This jazz-mad world is materialism based on excitement. There is no real happiness in it."
