Tennis writers generally are agreed that France should have little difficulty in eliminating Japan in the final rounds of the Davis Cup for the right to challonge America. The teams nominated consist of Harada and Tawara for Japan, and Eene Lacoste, Henri Cochct, and Jacques Brugnon for France. The challenge round between France and the United States will arouso the keenest interest, as the teams are regarded as almost equally matched. Meanwhile, the United States Selection Committee' faces a difficult task, with the necessity of again choosing between William Johnston and Vincent Bichards to play in tho singles with Tilden. Johnston, haying beaten both Borotra and Lacoste in 1925, has played a splendid game since, while Bichards has lost prestige in Europe this Beason, which, however, he has since recovered here. It is probable, after everything has been taEen into consideration, that the United States team will consist of Til(Ten and Johnston in tho singles and Bichards and Williams in the doubles.
