SEARCH FOR MISSING MEN.

■ CHRJSTCHURCH, 25th August. Three parties searched the upper reaches of the Waimakariri River yesterday for the two missing men, Gerald Nelson Garrington and John Stevenson Shannon, who -with Walter' William Brassington were thrown into the river near Staircase when their'raft capsized on Sunday. The search parties' had nothing to report upon relinquishing their quest at nightfall. Ihe river was running about a loot higher than its usual level, and was slightly discoloured.
