isth August for oil fuel. Fins weather prevailed for theflrst two weeks of the voyage, and afterwards continuous frech south-west winds and rough seas. Before being commissioned for her present voyage the Dewey was engaged in the Oriental service, taking cargo from Portland, Oregon, to Japan and China. She is owned by the United States Shipping Board, and was built at Washington In 1919. She is an oil-burner, and her gross tonnage la 5G30 tons. Captain G. Hagberg is in command.
