WELLINGTON UNION
The Wellington Rugby Union's Management Committee met last evening, Mr. J. Prendcville presiding. Others present wero: Major T.King and Messrs. A. J. Griffiths, G. F. W. Jackson, H. Murphy, H. D. Morgan, B. M'llraith, J. N. Millard, A. Lindsay, and A. E. Neilson (secretary).
Permission was granted for the following matches to be played:—The Charles Haines Advertising Agency, Ltd., v. P. Hayman and Co., 28th August; Brooklyn Methodist Bible Class v. Brooklyn Presbytorian Bible Class, 28th August; St. John's T.M. Biblo Class v. St. John's Hostel, 11th Soptembor; City Corporation Motor Transport Department v. City Corporation No. 3 Depot.
A lower grado playor ordered off dur> ing a game last Saturday was cautioned.
Tho Taita Club made a request that tho third grado final, Poneko v. Taita bo played at Taita. Mombors considered that the match ahould bo played on a neutral ground, and it was decided that it bo transferred from Kilbirnio to Athletic Park, to be played as a curtain-raisor to tho Auckland-Welling-ton match.
Notification was recoivod that sovoral lower grade teams wero unablo to fulfil any further cngagomontß.
With regard ■to the Wellington v. Horowhenua-Manawatu match, nt Palmerston North on tho Hth Soptombor, it was decided that tho W^'Hngton toara leave on tho morning of tlio match and return in the evening.
Mr. A. J. Griffiths and Major T. King wore appointed managors of tho Wellington representative toam noxt Saturday. Mr. E. Williams was appointed to act as the union's representative with the Auckland toam.
