In the primary schools' tournament, Manawatu defeated Wanganui on Saturday afternoon by 18 points to 5. 'Tries were scored for the winners by Groobridge (2), Packer, and Scott, Packer being responsible for three conversions. The Wanganui try was secured by Gibbons, who himself converted.
