(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.")' ' DUNEDIN, This Day,. Mr. George Bobertson Hercus,: who died suddenly, was one ' of Dunedin's most esteemed citizens.' He was on duty as usual at Boss and Glendihing's ofi&ce on Thursday,' apparently in his usual health. In the evening^ while at home, he was taken with cerebral hemorrhage just as he was about to retire for the night, and he died a :lit'tlo after ten o 'clock. ■ • • The late Mr. Hercus was born in the North of Scotland' 82. years ago, and came to • Port. Chalmers; by the /ship Nelson in 1870. He joined the firm of Boss, and Glendining,-and remained in it to the day of his death, rising to the position of director, with wide powers. He was. premier deacon of the Hanover Street Baptist.. Church. Mrs. Hercus survives her husband, and there are six in the-family — Mr. Peter Hercus (of . Barr, Hercus, and Co.), Mr. Stanley C. Hercus (solicitor), Mr. Erie O. Hercus (lecturer on physics at the Melbourne University), Mrs. E. D. Sutherland (of . . Hastings),' Mrs.; James Inge (of Boxburgh), and .'Miss' 1 Hereus. ■ . ■ ' ■
