BODY FOUND NEAR RAILWAY LINE

(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, This Day. The body of a middle-aged man, whose name is believed to bo A. E. Elliott, was discovered alongside the railway tracks at the Southdown crossing last evening by the driver of the train which reaches Auckland from Papakura at 11.10 o 'clock. The man, who was dead when found, had a severe injury to the head. The body was placed on the train and conveyed to Auckland. A receipt form bearing the name "A. E. Elliott," and a riding whip with the inscription "Sandy Elliott's Whip,' 1 furnished the only means of identification. The deceased is thought to havo been between 45 and 50.years of age.
