SAID TO BE NEGLIGIBLE
MORE SERIOUS AT ODESSA
RIOTING QUELLED BY THE AUTHORITIES.
(United Press Association. —Copyright.) (Australian-New Zealand Cable Assn.) LONDON, 13th August. Keliable advices which have reached London- concerning the situation in Bussia show, says the diplomatic correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph," that the disorders in Leningrad and Kronstadt were of a negligible character, but those in Odessa were more serious, involving rioting on a large scale by arsenal workers. The rioting, ..however, was promptly quelled by the naval and military authorities. An increased exodus of the Bessarabian population to the Rumanian border followed, causing some concern to the Rumanian administrators and patrols. The outstanding feature of the political outlook appears to be Stalin's efforts to secure the co-operation of the former Menshevik leaders with the Soviet Government. Naturally the more fanatic Communists are indignant at this move.
