PROFESSIONAL ORCHESTRA.

In future the concerts of the Wellington Professional Orchestra will be held m the Grand Opera House on the dates stated on the membership cards. Tomorrow's concert will be of exceptional merit, a special feature being Greig's Concerto in A minor for the pianoforte, and full orchestra. The pianist will be Madame Evelyn de Mauny, who has established for herself the right to be classed amon^ the foremost pianists of the Dominion. This famous concerto is recognised aa the best work for piano and orchestra ever written. Another item, which is sure to be greatly enjoyed is the aria "Father of Heaven," from "Judas Maccabaeue," which will be sung by Mrs. Wilfred Andrews. Among the orchestral numbers the incidental music to "Othello" by Coleridge Taylor, will be a feature. This beautiful suite is rarely heard and is being Tendered by the orchestra for the first time. Another popular item will be the very dainty minuet for strings only, by Boccherini, while the intermezzo "Rose Mousse," by Bosc, shall be much appreciated. The opening' and concluding items will be the overture "Oberon," by Weber, and the prelude to the third act of "Lohengrin," by Wagner. The orchestra endeavours, by rendering the best works of old and modern masters, in the most efficient manner that limited rehearsals will permit, to uphold the musical standard of the city and to give citizens some knowledge of the works of the great masters.
