Police cases in the Magistrate's Court to-day were dealt with by Mr. E. Page, S.M. '
A remand till next Wednesday was ? ranted in the case of George Alexander lobert Irving, a driver, aged 26, who was charged with forging a withdrawal slip for £33 10s on the Post Office Savings Bank, purporting.to be signed by Daniel Wilson, with the intent that it should be acted upon as if genuine. Allan Lockhart Familton, a french polisher, who was charged with forging the name of P. Childs to a cheque for £20 and uttering it to John Ashworth at Domett, was remanded to appear at Cheviot next Saturday. Bail of £50 and one surety of £50 was allowed.
Calvini Giovanni, who made his sixth appearance for drunkenness, was fined £3, in default fourteen days' imprisonment. He was also prohibited for twelve months.
One first offender for drunkenness was fined 10s, and a second was convicted and discharged. : _
