FOUR KILLED

CAPTIVE BALLOON TBAGfJBDY.

(Australian-New Zealand Cable Asm.) (Eeceived 4th August, 2 p.m.)

LONDON, 3rd August. Captive balloon trips were proceeding successfully at Kempston . Flower Show, when a trailing rope became entangled in trees. Well-meaning bystandera rushing up pulled the rope in stead of allowing the official to release the slack. The result was that the netting parted from the basket, the envelope sailed up, and the basket fell sixty feet, killing three passengers and the pilot.

Among those killed in the balloon was Captain Willows, father of British airships.
