FRIENDS"

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
PALMEESTON N., This Day.
"This is the last chapter in the life of one who apparently became a derelict. There is something inexpressibly sad in this case of a man. with no money, no name, and no friends, as he puts it in a note found-on his body,'' observed the Coroner at an inquest held this morning on the body of an unknown man found on 22nd April on the Awahuri road, with a bullet wound in the head, and a pea rifle lying across the knees. It was stated in oyidenco that exhaustive inquiries throughout the Dominion and Australia had failed to establish the identity of the deceased, who' left a note stating that he had been unable to find work, had no money, name, or friends, and had decided to relinquish life. He signed it "Unknown warrior, Aussie," and hoped "some other poor devil would have better luck." A vordict of death from a self-in-i.flicied rifle bnllgfc ymunA was returned.
