; PALMEESTON N., This Day. The Coronial inquiry was held this ■morning into tho fatality on 2ath July whereby William Frederick Brown lost his life while attempting to cross the flooded Kahuterawa stream with a horse and gig. | '. The evidence of Brown's companion, j Doyle, showed that he warned deceased against attempting the crossing. Doyle crossed on a wire across tho stream. Brown then drove tho horse into the water. A few minutes later ho was swept away. Doyle mado a big effort to save Brown, but failed. The Coroner, returning a verdict of accidental death, said that Brown lost "his life in a foolhardy attempt to cross the stream.
