CLASHES REPORTED

POLICE STRIKE POSSIBLE. (Australian-New Zealand Cable Assn.) VANCOUVER, 2nd August. A message from Nogales, Arizona, states: "Dispatches from Mexico City report several clashes there. About fifteen persons have been wounded, some of them women. A semi-official report from the Mexican Capital says a police strike is threatened, because of the religious situation. It is asserted that the Church sympathisers are well armed and ready to meet any situation, and that the police will possibly strike if called upon to act against the CatEolics.''
