KING'S tTHEATRE.
Romance and adventure are.blended in an ideal combination in "Lights of Old Broadway," a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer picture, starring Maribn Davies in an unusual dual role, now showing at the King's Theatre. Conrad Nagel and George K. Arthur are also in the cast. The story is one of deep romantic interest. Included in the supports are a gazette, New Zealand scenic, screen snapshots, and a crossword puzzles film, -with excellent incidental music by the King's Orchestra. In "Sandy," one of the most gripping romances of recent years, which commences on Friday, Elenore Meherin—gifted San Francisco author—has given the screen one of the most striking figures ever shown upon the silver sheet. "Sandy" runs the gamut of human emotions and finishes her life in indescribable woe. The theme of the photoplay is one of widespread appeal., The sensational success that greeted it instantaneously upon publication was due to the fact that the character of "Sandy" has been treated with a candour that is sometimes daring, but always true to life. The name role is played by Madge Bellamy, who has transformed her demure personality into that of a fiery flapper with realism and conviction.
