CHRISTCHURCH, This Day

The volume of traffic from the West Coast to Canterbury through the Otira Tunnel shows a steady increase each month. During July the gross tonnage hauled through the tunnel amounted to 43,289 tons, an increase of 4087 over July of last year, and of 16,080 over July, 1924. Tho tonnage for the week ended on 10th July was 11,500, whien is one of the best weekly totals srnee the tunnel was opened.
