HIGHWAY WINS AGAIN

GISBORNE, lst August.
The second day of the Glsborne Racing Club Steeplechase was held yesterday. The weather was fine and the going good. The totalisator handled £16,976, compared with £16,947 for the second day last year. Results :—
Glsborne Hurdles Handicap, of 150 soys; one mile and a half.—l Royal Heather, 10.10 (F. Dunn), 1; 5 Copper Nob, 9.0, 2; 3 Mark Over, 9.0, 3. Also started: 4 Good Mark 9.3, 7 Scottish King,- 9.0, 6 Lieutenant Tongariro 9.0, 8 Pukenul 9.0. Won by two lengths, half a length between second and third. Time, 2min 49sec. '
Maiden Hack Handicap, of 110 soys; six furlongs.—l Hathor, '9.11 (H. Dunn), 1; 5 Mon Mint, 9.0, 2; 4 Miss Willonyx, 9.2, 3. Also started: 3 Evensong 9.9, 2 Yen 9.3, 8 Cluster 9.0', 10 Ballyfarnon 9.0, 11 Lady. Flash 9.9, 12 Le Autumn 9.0, 7 Loch Lyon 9.0, 13 Bonser 9.0, 6 Wet Winter and Chip Chase 9.0 (bracketed). Won by a length, half a length between second and third. Time, lmin ISsec.
Walkanae Handicap, of 165 soys; one mile.— 1 Scotch Mixture, 10.11 (Mackic), 1; 2 Pita, 9.13, 2; 6 Morose, 9.0, 3. Also started: 5 Chaplin 10.2, 3 Barrier 10.1. 4 Road Hog 9.2. Won by half a length, half a head between second and third. Time, lmin 43sec.
Second Hack Flat Handicap, of 130 soys; seven furlongs.—s Tlno Muunga, 9.7 (M'Tavisli), 1; 3 Raplata, 9.7, 2; 1 Cohesion, 10*4, 3. Tehapara Steeplechase Handicap, of 150 soys; two miles and a half.—l Highway 12.0 (Nixon), 1; 2 Peppln, 9.0, 2; 3 .Woden, 10.10, 3. Also started: 4 Mahia 10.2. Won by a length, eight lengths between second and third. Time,, smln 3 3-ssec. •
