NEW ZEALAND TEAM

PORTER.OUT OF ACTION.

According to advice received by Mr. S. S. Dean, chairman of the New Zealand Eugby Union, the injury sustained by Porter during the New Zealand team's visit to' Australia may keep the captain off the field for the remainder of the season. It is reported that' Porter' has fluid on the knee. If this.will affect the player to the extent reported, AVellington must be counted very unfortunate.in being deprived of the services of Porter for the match with Hawkes Bay.

Mr. Dean has also been advised that Brown is suffering from quinsy, and that Cooke and Irvine should soon be well,.

The New Zealaud team is due at Auckland to-morrow from Sydney.
