TAUMARUNUI, This Day.

A fire at midnight on Saturday in a six-roomed house occupied by J. Bain, a railway employee, completely gutted tho back portion, but the front rooms wero saved. Bain was working at the time of the outbreak, and his wife was alone in the house. She was rcscv-d through a window. The owner of the house is Mrs. H. H. Gunthorp,. and the building is insured for &700 in the New Zealand Insurance Company. The furniture is covered to .the extent of £100 in tho Dominion Office.
