A SERIOUS CHARGE

ALLEGED UNLAWFUL USE OF

INSTRUMENT.

Elizabeth Ann Neville, a married woman, aged 49; was charged in the Magistrate's Court to-day with unlawfully using a certain instrument.

"The woman on whom it is alleged the instrument was used died in the hospital this morning," said Chief-De-tective Ward, in asking for a remand to 28th July. "This is a very serious charge, and I would ask that bail, if granted, be substantial."

The Magistrate (Mr. W. G. Riddell, S,M.), granted the remand and fixed bail at £300, with two sureties of £150 each. The accused was also ordered to report twice daily to the police.
