LONDON, 20th July. In the county fixtures most of the wickets were affected by rain. Kent, in the first innings against Surrey, at Maidstone, made 356 (Ashdown 88, Collins 90, Hubble 61), Peach taking six wickets for 67 runs, and in the second lost one wicket for 170 (Ashdown, not out, 102). Surrey, in the first innings, declared when eight wickets had fallen for 434 runs (Hobbs 77, Jeacocke 76, Holmeß, not ont, 62). Tho match was drawn.

Middlesex, in the first innings against Yorkshire, at Bradford, scored 295 (Hcarne 134, Allen 80), and in the second 80, Kilner taking eight wickets for 40 runs and Rhodes two for 8. Yorkshire, in the first innings, made 371 (Holmes 128, Leyland 67),' Haig taking five wickets for 108 runs, and in tho second innings lost no wickets for 6. Yorkshire won by ten wickets. Hampshire, playing against Sussex, at Brighton, in the first innings made 274 (Mead 101), Tate taking seven wickets for 89 runs, and in the second declared when nine wickets had fallen for 198, Tate taking four wickets for 44 runs. Sussex, in the first innings, made 214 (Duleepsinhji 115), Newman taking seven wickets for 79 runs, and in the second innings 176 (Tate 45), Boyes taking five wickets for 38 runs. Hampshire won by 82 runs. Playing for Warwickshire against Worcestershire, at Birmingham, Kilner made 121 runs. Warwickshire won.

Playing for . Leicestershire against Derbyshire, at Leicester, Taylor made 107 runs, and Lord took five wickets for 40 runs. For Derbyshire, Lee took five wickets for 57 runs. Leicestershire won. '

Playing for Notts against Gloucestershire, at Nottingham, Whysall, in the first innings, made 100, and in the second 167, not out, and Walker 107. For Gloucestershire, Sinfield made 112, sot out, and took five wickets for 104 runs. The match was drawn.

Playing for Glamorgan against Northants, at Kettering, Bell made 152 runs, and Mercer took five wickets for 63 runs. For Northants, Clark took five wickets for 57 runs. Glamorgan won.
