THE ABT UNION EVIL.

In the opinion of a number of ecclesiastical bodies, the Government is not going far enough in tho proposals it intends to bring into force ' i order to restrict the operations of art unions. A depntation has been organised by the Anglican, Presbyterian, Methodist, and Baptist Churches, together with the Church of Christ and the Salvation Army, to wait on the Prime Minister and the Minister of Internal Affairs to place before them the evils arising out 'pt the present art union system, and also {degenerating picture films and picture ■posters.

!Ct had been arranged that the'deputation should meet the Ministers to- ( morrow morning, but owing to Mr. ■Coatee's indisposition it has been postponed until Thursday of next week.
