MINING CRISIS

DEPUTATION WAITS ON MR. BALDWIN.

(Australian-New Zealand Cable Assn.) (Received 20th July, -2 p.m.)

LONDON, 19th July.

The "Daily Telegraph" states that a deputation of tho Industrial Christian Fellowship, including several bishops, saw Mr. Baldwin at the House of Commons and urged that the Government should subsidise the mining industry while a national settlement is being negotiated. There was a vague mention of the possible loan, but no practical plan was outlined, and the deputation was resultless. The Fellowship, how ever, is continuing its efforts.
