DANCING
The annual staff dance of Messrs. Sargood, Son and Ewen is boing hold early next week in St. Francis's Hall. Mesdames Ewen, Cramond, Robinson, and Mehaffey will be chaperones for the evening. Mr. A. V. Clarke is hon. secretary of an energetic committee, consisting of Misses Luke, Blackmore, and Carter, Messrs. Cramon,d, Mehaffoy, Adair, M'Arthur, Newman, Fittis, Dempster, Pringle, Douglas, and Talbot. Arrangements are well in hand, and with orchestral music of a high standard, excellent floor and catering perfection, an enjoyable evening is being anticipated by staff and friends. The Miramar branch of the Women's National Reserve will hold a dance next Tuesday evening at the Kilbirnie Hall, in aid of the funds for the residential nurseries, Owen street. A good orchestra has been engaged, and the committee hopes to have a successful evening. As the dance is for a worthy cause, the committee trusts there will be a good attendance. . . A grand social and dance in connection with the July celebrations of the Loyal Orange Institution will be held in St. Thomas's Schoolroom, Newtown, on Saturday next, at 8 p.m. Divine service will be held in the Concert Chamber, Town Hall, on Sunday, 11th July, at 3 P-The committee of the Maytime Jazz Club promises good entertainment for dancing enthusiasts at its opening function in the Town Hall this evening. There will be a Variety of dancing which should be acceptable, and with excellent music, a splendid floor, the hall heated to a comfortable temperature, and other details provided for, the occasion should be enjoyable to all who attend. The visiting Auckland footballers have been invited to attend..
