STATE INSURANCE
NEW SOUTH WALES SCHEME.
(Received 11th June, 2 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day.
The State Government has decided to establish a State Insurance Office, where every class of insurance business will be transacted. The Bill, which is already drafted, is almost identical with that which created the Queensland scheme. > Private insurance companies regard the proposal with considerable misgiving, as the State Offlco would compete against them not only on a lower premium basis, but it also proposes to make bonus payments to policy-holders from excess profits.
