AUSTRALIA'S STRIKE
COMPULSORY CONFERENCE
TO SETTLE COAL TROUBLE,

At a conference between Mr; Baddeley, Minister of Mines, and Mr. Hibble, chairman of the Coal Tribunal, it was agreed to call a compulsory conference of the parties to the coal dispute. The prospects of an early settlement are hopeful. % Later. Summonses have been issued calling the parties to tho coal dispute to a compulsory conference on Monday next. ■
