RELIEF FOR UNEMPLOYED
BIG WORKS AT AUCKLAND.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day.
Unemployment in Auckland is likely to be greatly relieved in consequence o£ the successful outcome of negotiations between the Mayor and the Prime Minister. The Government has agreed to find £117,000 as its share of the cost of constructing the ' proposed waterfront roadway to Orakei, and has authorised the City Council to raise £100,000 for the providing.of relief works for the unemployed without taking a poll of the ratepayers.
