As the result of the coal strike supplies of coal for tho railways are running short. Tho Railway Commissioners have issued an ultimatum to all mine owners whose pits are not affected by the striko that from to-day the Commissioners have reserved the right to commandeer 50 per cent, of all coal hauled in their trucks. It is understood that the coal will be paid for at existing port rates.
