APPEAL TO MOTHERS. fPHE Society for the Protection of Women and Children wishes to draw the attention of mothers and guardians of young children to the terrible assault .on a small girl, six years of age, who went to a Picture Theatre with a brother of eight years. The children were accostedby a man who gave them sweets, took them by tram to Lyall Bay, sent the little boy away, took the little girl to the sandhills and assaulted her, and left her in the cold and rain. The child was later taken to the hospital suffering in mind and body. This ' can happen in this or any city as things are at present, and the Society appeals to parents and guardians to refrain from sending the. little ones out alone, however small' or poor their homes may be.
