NEW ZEALAND CHEESE IN BRISBANE.
Brisbane advices on 28th May are that clear, cold, and wintry conditions had set in over the dairying districts of,- Queensland. Supplies of butter were holding up wonderfully woll, but this was not expected to continue. A quantity of 750 boxes of butter was shipped for London in the Orsova during the week, and the Leitrim loaded 6020 boxes of butter and 1130 crates of cheese for London. "In view of the accumulation of supplies of cheese iv Brisbane (it is added), some surprise was caused to the. trado by the arrival there of 100 crates of cheese from New Zealand. The lauded cost price of this, cheese, it is said, was less than the fixed distributing price of Queensland cheese, but it is suggested that probably another factor in the business was the expectation that by now some shortage of cheese would be seen in the Brisbane market."
