IN FORCE TOMORROW
MOTOB-BUS * BEGULATIONS.
The Motor-Omnibus Kegulations, gazetted recently, come into operation tomorrow. According to the regulations, owners of buses who intend to operate in the city are required to secure a license from the licensing authority set up under the regulations. In the case of Wellington the City Council is the authority, but so far it has not been possible to issue any licenses, although applications have been made. Discussing the matter to-day, the Mayor (Mr. C; B. Norwood) said that the whole question was at present being considered. Under the regulations owners of buses had to furnish a certificate from tho engineer to the City Council. That had to bo done before a license was issued. "It might be possible to issue a temporary license .for a few days," said Mr. Norwood, "but on that point I am unable to say any more at present." A meeting of the Finance Committee of the City Council is'being held this afternoon to consider the whole question of the bus regulations.
