GAME ABANDONED

THUNDERSTORM STOPS YORKSHIRE MATCH

AUSTEALIA'S SECOND INNINGS DECLARED.

(Rauter'i Telegram.) (Received 9th June, 11 a.m.) LONDON, Bth .June.

The match between Yorkshire and the Australians was resumed this "morning at Bradford. Heavy rain overnight made the wicket easy, and it required constant attention by the batsmen and a liberal supply of sawdust on the bowlers' run. During the luncheon interval a thunderstorm arrived, and the match was abandoned. The attendance was small. When the Australians resumed their second innings Crawford was bowling slower than on the first day, but showed an improvement on yesterday, and he had Collins twice beaten with a break back. Gregory, when he had scored 7, was badly missed by Douglas at deep point off Oldroyd. Waddington and Oldroyd were not difficult, and the score mounted by a succession of singles, with a few bigger hits. When his score stood at 73, Collins legged Douglas through Oldroyd's hands, and immediately-after declared the innings closed. His knock included nine fours, and he displayed excellent timing. Gregory and Bichardson opened Australia's attack to Leyland and Mitchell, and before the latter had opened his score he was missed by Eyder at first slip off Gregory. It was an easy catch, straight to his hands. The batsmen then dug themselves in and | took no risks. Biehardson opened, and hatf^six successive maidens, the first nine overs only producing six singles, off Gregory, and two byes. When the total was 19, rain, which had threatened all the morning, compelled a halt, and only three more overs were played before lunch. The following are the detailed scores: — AUBTBALIA.
