COMMISSIONER'S CONTINENTAL TOUR. f.

LONDON, 4th May. Colonel J. J. Esson, Mr. Percy H. Cox, and Mr. W. J. Polsbn, the members of the Bural Credits Commission, arrived in London this week-end after an absence on tho Continent of about five weeks. They visited Prance, Germany, Denmark, Holland,' and Belgium, and were given facilities for making investigations. They were particularly pleased with the material they were able to obtain in Denmark. To-day Sir James Allen arranged a luncheon in their honour at Hotel Cecil, and the Commissioners were able to meet several men who are likely to be useful to them. •.. These were Sir Sydney Chapman (Permanent Secre"tary of tho Board of Trade), Mr. John F. Darling (Director of tho London Joint City and Midland Bank, and an authority oil currency u,nd exchanges), Sir "William Furse (the new Director of the Imperial Institute), and Mr. Douglas Newton, M.P. (who is greatly interested in farming in this country). After the luncheon Sir James Allen took the three Commissioners to Cambridge in his car, where they inspected the Government cold storage research station.
