HAMILTON, Bth June. The criminal sessions of the Supreme 'Court opened in Hamilton to-day. A young man. Jack Thompson, who pleaded guilty to breaking and entering at Otorohanga and theft of £9, was admitted to probation for two years. A middle-aged man, William Johnson, of Ngaruawahia, was found guilty of forging and uttering a cheque for £160, and of attempting to obtain a quantity of clothing from a Te Awamutu merchant and the balance iri change. Sentence was postponed. BLENHEIM, Bth June. In the Supreme Court, William Cooke, who had pleaded guilty in the Lower Court to charges of forgery aud uttering, was sentenced to reformative treatment for a period not exceeding one year. Ernest Thomas Reid, who pleaded guilty to a charge of making a false declaration under the Marriage Act, was admitted to probation for one year.
