SUCCESS OF FLOTATION
MINISTER EXPRESSES SATIS.
FACTION.
Satisfaction with the success of the New. Zealand loan for £6,000,000 successfully floated on the London market was expressed this afternoon by the Minister of Finance (the Hon. W. Downie Stewart), in. an interview with a '' Post. reporter.
Mr. Downie Stewart stated that information to hand indicated that tile loan had been very successful, the amount having been fully subscribed within two hours ■of being placed 'on the market.
In view of the difficult industrial position in Britain, this result affords satisfactory evidence as to our credit in tho London market, wnieh has for years been of a high standard, stated Mr. Stewart. The very full particulars given in the prospectus as to the sound state of the finances of the Dominion have no doubt been a factor in attracting investors.
