"GIVE AND TAKE."
To theatre-goers who like riotious, farce comedy, "Give and Take," to be staged here for the first time on Monday evening at the Grand Opera House, for seven nights, by J. C. Williamson, in conjunction with 3D. J. Carroll, should offer ideal fare. The play, written by Aaron Hoffman, the author of "Welcome Stranger," for Harry Green, the famous Hebrew comedian, is that sort of problem play which endeavours to reconcile Capital and Labour. The explanation given by the sou of the proprietor of a canning factory that one cannot do without the other, and that co-operation solves the difficulty, proved to be possiblo only in theory. The play had wonderfully successful runs in Lojjdon and New York, and in Melbourne and Sydney broke all previous comedy records. The box plans are at The Bristol.
