TYPHOID STAMPED OUT

NAPIER, 21st May. The recent outbreak of typhoid fever ill the Maori districts adjacent to Napier has been effectively stamped out. Of the 35 patients admitted to the hospital, four died, two were negative cases, eight have been discharged cured, and 21 remain. There luivo been no admissions for nearly a fortnight. Dr. Mercer, of the Health Department, is satisfied that the outbreak has been overcome, and will return to Wellington to-morrow.
