DANGER TO TRAFFIC
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—l would like to draw the attention of the civic authorities to the danger attending motor traffic proceeding along Cambridge terrace towards the city at the intersection of Vivian street by reason of the fact that the approach of trams from Kent terrace into Cambridge terrace is obscured by one or two trees at the rear of the Vivian street tram shed.
The traffic along Cambridge terrace is particularly heavy in the morning, hundreds of cars, buses, and lorries entering the city area via this thoroughfare. I have personally witnessed two narrow escapes from collision this week, and consider that these trees were the direct cause. I am a lover of Nature, and consider Wellington has none too many trees to spare, but undoubtedly the trees in question should be removed to a less dangerous spot before a serious accident takes place.—l am, etc, D 71-546. 20th May. ■. j
