' The Acting-Director of Dental Hygiene (Mr. J. L. Saunders) returned to Wellington from the South to-day. Mr. Lan D. Coster, special Press representative for Messrs. J. C. Williamson, Ltd., in connection with the Mme. Pavlova season, is in Wellington. - Mr; J. W. Collins, secretary of the Department, of Industries and Commerce, returned to Wellington from the South to-day. The Rev. Father Connolly, parish^ priest of Kilbirnie, who is leaving oh Tuesday next for America) where he will attend the Eucharistic Conference at Chicago, was farewelled last evening by the parishioners at a meeting in the Kilbirnie Hall. Addresses • appreciative of Father Connolly's work in the district were delivered by Messrs. M. Bourke, B. Kelly, and the Rev. Father Kaverly. Presentations on behalf of the parishioners and the clergy were made to the Rev. Father Connolly, who suitably replied. The death was announced yesterday of _ the Rev. Father T. P. Lynch, parish priest of Helensville, aged 70 years. His death will be mourned in other parts of New Zealand as well, for he was priest of several other country parishes. He was born at Rathmore, County Cork, Ireland, and in early life migrated to America. Here he studied for the priesthood in the arch-diocese of Chicago, and served as a priest there for several years. However, his health failed, and ho returned to his native land. Later he came to-New Zealand, arriving in Auckland in 1903. He took up the work of parish priest at Kihikihi, and in succession served at Coromandel, Puhoi, Te Awamutu, and finally at Helensville. In all these parishes Father Lynch left the stamp of his generous character, states the "New Zealand Herald." He was an able scholar, and a few years ago wrote a book dealing with religion. ____
