V.M.C.A. (5) v. TRAINING COLLEGE (4).
.The Y.M.C.A.-Traiuing College ■ match at Karpri was remarkable for the manner in which play see-sawed up and down the field. Sykea scored for the collegians shortly after, play had started, and Steptoe evened up the scores after an exciting tussle'in the college circle. Massey was seriously disabled before half-time, and the collegians, with ten men, were handicapped to a great extent. Thereafter, in the second spall, first one side and then the other.would score, Young Men, however, whining, by one goal. Ferguson (4) scored for Young Men in the second half and Fraser (2) and Sykes for Training College. Mr, T. Adams was referee. PETONE v. WESLEY. Even play "wag seen in the Petone-Wesley match at Hutt Park. Petone almost scored twice in the first few minuter, but the Wesley 'keeper saved brilliantly. - Millan opened Wesley's account, but Lindop, from a smart forward movement, equalised immediately. Petone 1, Wesley 1. Both sides added another goal before half-time, Strong scoring for Wesley. In the second spell, Petone were slightly superior, Lindop and Gilmour scoring after spectacular passing. Paul added to Wesley's tally on the call of time. Petone 4, Wesley 3. Mr. R. Judd was referee. WELLINGTON LOSE TO HUTT. Both Wellington and Hutt played ten men in their fixture at Hutt Recreation Ground. The combination generally was ragged. Wellington, from the stick of Dv Flou, were first to score, but thereafter had to remain on the defensive for some time. Hutt passed fairly effectively, Colton finally goaling. Hutt 1. Wellington 1. FitzJones scored for Wellington from the bully, but Gwilliam equalised from a tussle in the Wellington circle. In the second spell, Hutt were somewhat superior, Gwilliam ,again netting from a «entre by Webley. A. Judd added to the total just before the conclusion, Wellington returning to the attack without success. Hutt 4, Wellington 2. Mr. A. Scott was referee. KARORI v. HUIA. Huia met a strong combination in Ka-' rori at Newtown Park. Karori had things all their own way in the first spell, their defence, in which the forwards were prominent, beating the backs' determined attacks .time and again. Butcher finished off. a bright Karori movement by scoring the only goal of the first half. Cooper, for Huia, played an excellent game after the interval, and scored twice, while Barber also netted for Huia. Karori pressed hard, Watchman, Lewer, and King being successful in scoring, although Rose, in Huia's goal, brought off some spectacular saves. The game ended: Karori 4, Huia s. ■ .■ " :.
