AUTUMN FLOWERS

FINE SHOW AT KAEOEI.

A very fine display of autumn flowers was made on Saturday evening under the auspices of the Karori Methodist Horticultural Society. In all classes the exhibits were of a high standard, the chrysanthemums including niany excellent flowers. The vegetable classes drew a large number of entries, and proved Karori 'a claim as a good place for a family man to live in. The show was opened by Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P., who complimented the lociety upon the success of its plans and the secretary (the Rev. F. B. Laurence) and committee upon the excellent organisation. A sale of work was held under the management of a committee of ladies. . The following were prize winners in the competitive sections:— Chrysanthemums: Mr. Instone, 3 :firsts; Mr. E. H. Johnston, 1 first; Mr. Gainb'le, 1 first; Mr. J. Cattle, 2 firsts and 4 seconds; Mr. Gandin, 1 first; Mr. D. E. Maxwell, 2 seconds; Mrs. J.icobsen, 1 second; Mr. Nieholl, 1 second; Mr. H.
