NEW CITY OFFICERS
As the applications received in England for tho positions of Town Clerk and City Engineer for Wellington were only mailed on 18th March, with the Canadian applicants to follow later, it will not bo possible for the City Council to como to any decision as to who these officers shall be until tho end of the month at tho earliest. The new Superintendent of Fire Brigades, Mr. J. Crooko, arrived from Sydney by the Ulimaroa yesterday, and commenced duty to-day.
