Germany is attempting to clear the ground for the reorganisation of the Loagne oi Nations Council and her admission io it in September. The German Ambassador, Herr yon Hoeseh, called on the Premier, M. Briand, and questioned him in the name o£ the German Governmont on the following
points:—
(1) What is likely to be the attitude of Prance towards the candidature of Spain and Brazil! (21 How the Commission to study the proposal for extension of the Council will be composed? (3) What will be the exact status of the German delegates invited to
participate in the Commission?
It is understood that similar queries will be addressed to other permanent members of thg Council.
