CALCUTTA, 4th April. Street fighting continues, but the situation new seems under control. Military patrols were strengthened during ttie-night. Owing to incendiarism by rioters the fire brigade had 75 calls.

The Moslems made a , determined attempt to raid a big Hindu tomple. Two entered tho temple, but a Bengali boy cut one in two with a sword and kept tho templo. It is impossible correctly to estimate the casualties, as many did not go to hospital.
