MANAWATU TOURNAMENT
FINALS BEING PLAYED TO-DAY.
(By , Telegraph.—Press Association.)
PALMERSTON N., 3rd April,
The semi-finals in connection with the annual Easter Soccer tourney, promoted by St. Andrew's Football Club, Palmerston North, was played to-day in a strong cold wind. On Friday, when the competition was commenced, Brooklyn, which t\ as defeated by Seatoun by 6 goals to nil, protested on the ground of an unfair decision by the referee, and had the protest upheld, a replay being ordered. This was to have taken place this morning, but Brooklyn withdrew their objection, leaving St. Andrew's, Athletic, Rangers, and Seatoun in the semi-finals. Details: Athletic (3) beat St. Andrew's (nil); Rangers (3) tied with Seatoun (3). The position in the latter game was unaltered after ten minutes' extra play, and the game will be replayed on Monday morning, and the final in the afternoon.
