PLAY AT MIRAMAR

MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL

TO-DAT.

Bright play was seen at the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association's Easter tournament at Miraniar to-day. The wind, which was such a disturbing factor on Saturday, was considerably less, and play was therefore better. In the semi-final of the men's championship singles, L. France was successful in beating Malfroy, 6-3, 0-6, 6-4, after one of the closest games in the tournament. In thj third set Malfroy was leading 4-2, but at that stage France took the lead, and with clever placements won the set. Another exciting game was that in which Donovan beat Lampe. Donovan was at the top of his form, and his hard hitting and skilful placements often found Lampe out of position. Donovan won 6-2, 8-6. This afternoon the winner of the semi-final between C. Collins and Donovan will meet France in the final of the men's singles. Miss Bell is into the semi-final of the ladies' handicap singles, defeating Miss Bowden this morning, 50-47.
